Information for Groups & Participants in Memorial Day Parade May 29, 2017
Important Note: NEW PARADE ROUTE: S. Broad St. to Yardville-Allentown Rd. to Rt. 156 to S. Broad St. to Main St. to Church St. to Cemetery!
1.) Parade Events will take place Rain or Shine at SVDP! If it rains, the parade will be cancelled
and there will not be a rain date. You will be notified in the Auditorium or at Dover Plaza.
The Memorial Cemetery Ceremony will be in our Auditorium at 9:00 AM sharp.
2.) Doors to Auditorium & Church will be open before, during & after parade. Doors open
6:45AM. Refreshments will be served 7:00-7:30 AM (light breakfast) & after the parade or
ceremony (hot dogs, soda, & more). Rain or Shine!
3.) All participants will depart from SVDP, promptly, at 7:30 AM to Dover Plaza.
4.) If you are Riding in the parade, please meet & park at SVDP & you will be directed to a
vehicle. Someone will call you prior to parade day.
5.) Group Leaders & Individuals should have your own carpool plan to get to & from your
destinations (ex. SVDP to Dover Plaza & from Groveville to Dover/SVDP). Drivers can drop
off participants at Dover & come back to park at SVDP or Groveville (end of parade). You
can park your vehicle on Main St. past Church St., away from the S. Broad St. end, or
you can park in the lot at the Old Groveville Firehouse Building which is a Church - you
can get directives there from parade officials. You CAN NOT park on Church St. OR
Main St. - between S. Broad St. & Church St.. Rides can be provided for "drivers only"
who need to get back to Dover to participate in the parade. You can park at Dover or on side
streets nearby. Parking at Dover Plaza is Very Limited! Please contact Sandra Logorda -
609-516-9768 or Angela Rossi - 609-372-8646 at SVDP if you need any assistance or if any
"drivers only" need a ride before or after the parade. The best thing to do in this regard is to
have someone drop you off and pick you up, or use your own carpool plan.
6.) Portable bathrooms are located at the end of Dover Plaza parking lot by Sunnybrite Cleaners.
7.) 8:00 Sharp, Meet by CVS & Lineup. Immediately commence to grass median on Sunnybrae
Blvd. & be directed by a SVDP Parade Committee Member. All vehicles in the parade will
drive to Sunnybrae Blvd. & will be directed by a Parade Official for line-up. All Vehicles in
our line-up will NOT go into the Cemetery. Please park them on Church Street past the
Cemetery entrance on Church St. & then proceed into cemetery, Or you can return
directly to SVDP or your destination. PARADE STARTS PROMPTLY at 8:30 AM!
8.) Water & snacks for our participants will be provided during the parade in Team car. Group
leader(s) or individuals can request them from a member of DOF, AHG, KTT or SVDP Boy's
Club. Please use some protection against the heat: ex. hats, sunscreen, umbrellas, etc..
9.) Handout giving is optional. For safety, please do not throw them at people. Extra handouts can
be stored in Team car . Please, put your names on them first.
10.) If you have any concerns or can no longer continue to walk during the parade (We will try to
make room for you in one of our SVDP Vehicles!), Please call: Sherri - 609-203-0591 (no

11.) In an Emergency, please dial 911 or contact a Police Officer along the Parade Route.
