SVdP Respects Life: “When does human life begin?”

As people of faith, we know that human life begins at conception. At that moment, each one of us began our lives as a totally unique individual in this world.
But this isn’t just a matter of Faith. It’s just as true for those who only believe in Science. Among many other things, Science itself tells us the following:

• At the moment conception we each have our own unique DNA structure
• A baby’s heart begins beating at 8 to 12 days after conception
• Brainwaves begin at 35 days
• Pregnancy, if allowed to continue by nature and nurture, always produces a baby

In the meantime, be aware that every Saturday a dozen or more women gather at the front door of Trenton Planned Parenthood even before the 9am opening. Local Catholics and other Christians are also there praying. A caring Evangelical Pastor takes the lead in offering each woman information about the support available from local Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Last week, a woman began reading the info card, looked up and said “For the first time, I have hope!”, called one of the numbers and left the line.

Please pray, learn and act in support of the many people in our own community facing a crucial life decision each week.
